Niel M du Plessis studied at the Stellenbosch University (MSc in Physics)
and obtained a PhD in Applied Mathematics at the University of Cape Town.
He was lecturing in Mathematics at the University of Western Cape before he joined the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Stellenbosch University.
