8 Puffball P p"Piffle and pestilence!" puffs the wizard. Rain pours down on his pate. Well, he hadn't even left
himself a porch to nap in. He has a pain in his back that won't leave him in peace. If only he hadn't felt
so parched yesterday evening! Zettelwitz picks up his wand, plods through a puddle and potters up the steps
in his wet slippers. "No problem", prattles the wand,
"I'll magic you dry, and then I'll make some pancakes for breakfast. That will do you a power of good. Then we can plan our day." "Today I will perform a prodigious number of transformations", proclaims the
wizard. "The zoo is the perfect place. But I'd better keep a sharp lookout, or Kalinko
might put a stop to my plans." On the way to the animal park, there is a pole with a plank nailed to it, with
a pointing finger and the word ZOO. The path leads through a carpet of poppies, primroses and dandelion clocks. Zettelwitz picks one and puffs on it, like this: ppphew! Lots of little seeds
fly away like parachutes. Only half of the little puffball is left. "Perfect", he chuckles to himself, "it looks like a P!"
Palaver, pavlova, pepper tree – Puffball must become a P! A PATTERING AND POPPING! A PEARLY FLASH! The puffball is promptly turned into a P ! 8 letters, 5 plus 3 8 O
